Canpar Barcode Label Requirements

Canpar Transport L.P. is pleased to announce that construction is well underway on our new state of the art, fully automated Toronto sortation facility. The facility is located at 205 New Toronto Street and will be opened by the third quarter of 2006. This facility will replace our existing main hub located at 261 Queen's Quay East in Toronto. The technology to be utilized in this new facility will greatly improve Canpar's ability to accurately sort all freight that passes through this new hub in the most efficient manner possible. To you, our customer, this means the best possible assurance that your packages will be correctly delivered on a timely basis.

In order to achieve optimum service from this new facility, it will be critical for all packages to have Canpar barcoded labels applied correctly to ensure they are easily scanned. In order to achieve this, we would like to bring to your attention several labeling guidelines to consider.

DO'S		DON'TS
1.)	DO apply all barcoded labels on a completely flat, unobscured surface on the exterior of any packaging materials.	1.)	DON'T apply packing tape over any barcoded labels.
2.)	DO ensure that any computer printer you may use for generating barcoded labels has a sufficient supply of ink or toner to ensure barcodes are clearly printed.	2.)	DON'T put any packing strapping over any barcoded labels.
3.)	DO ensure there are no wrinkles or scuffs on any barcoded labels applied to packages.	3.)	DON'T apply any barcoded labels on box seams.
4.)	DO remove any old barcoded labels that may be present should you decide to use pre-used packaging materials.	4.)	DON'T apply any barcoded labels over corners or edges of boxes.
5.)	DO ensure labels lay along the straight edge of tubes or round packaging.	5.)	DON'T put any shrink-wrap or packing cellophane over barcoded labels.
